At Stamps and More, we believe that every impression counts, whether it’s on a hand-stamped paper bag, a loyalty card, or a piece of custom packaging. For years, our wooden handheld stamps have been a staple for small businesses across New Zealand.
Today, we're excited to share a significant "behind-the-scenes" evolution in how these stamps are made.
The Challenge: Finding the Perfect Impression
We love wood. It’s tactile, classic, and looks beautiful on a desk. However, wood is a natural material, which means it can have tiny microscopic variations. Over time, wood can also be affected by moisture or ink, which can on rare occasions lead to an uneven stamp impression.
As a maker, we wanted to find a way to keep the aesthetic we love while solving the technical limitations of a wooden base.
The Solution: A Precision-Engineered Hybrid
After months of testing, we’ve found the "sweet spot." We are transitioning our handheld range to a high-quality, industrial plastic base, while keeping our signature custom-engraved wooden handles.
Why this is a game-changer for you:
-
A Perfectly Flat Surface: Unlike wood, the plastic base is engineered to be 100% flat and non-porous. This means the rubber die makes full contact with your paper, giving you a crisp, "no-smudge" finish every time.
-
The Best of Both Worlds: You still get that premium, tactile feel of our engraved wooden handles that you’ve come to know and love. It’s a modern tool with a boutique heart.
-
Built to Last: These bases are moisture-resistant and built for heavy-duty daily use.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It...
We’ve been "stealth-testing" these new hybrid stamps with our customers over the last few weeks. We’ve been upgrading orders for free just to see how they perform in the real world.
The feedback has been incredible! Customers have loved them and sent many thank you emails! (Check out our gallery below to see some of these results!)
A Special "Transition" Offer
We want everyone to experience the difference this precision base makes. From now until April 30th 2026, we are offering these new hybrid stamps at our original wooden stamp pricing. Essentially, you are getting the upgrade for free!
On May 1st 2026, our pricing will update to reflect the new materials, so if you’ve been thinking about refreshing your branding or grabbing a new logo stamp, now is the perfect time.
